08:48 - There's "The Truth", and then there's "The Truth"...

Here's what I like about TTAC: much like every car magazine that starts out with lofty but unsustainable goals of being unencumbered by the need to placate their advertisers by not issuing negative reviews of anything, these guys actually aren't afraid to give a thumbs-down where it's deserved.
Plus they use phrases like "a pointless, nerdy, twin-turbo, electronics-laden technological curiosity" to describe cars like the new Nissan GT-R.
Granted, reflexive or contrarian negativity (like you get from moody academic movie reviewers or restaurant critics) is tiring too. But in an age where it's pretty damn hard to buy a truly bad car, it's good to get what amusement can be had from an enjoyably well-written panning.
Me? I just think the thing's ugly as hell.
