How did this escape my notice? 3D Connexion's SpaceNavigator now supports Google Earth (4.1) on the Mac.
Great. There goes my weekend. Good thing I already got the driving part done... and now I can relive it in true 3D virtuality, the way I've dreamed since the first Microsoft Flight Simulator.

This is cool and all, but didn't I see this same demo a few months ago in that iPhone thing?
(Though let's be fair: photos on a tabletop-sized device like this one are probably a lot more useful and manipulable than on a phone. And the way they interoperate with digital cameras and cellphones and coffee mugs and such really is a triumph of interface design.)
