'Course, the actual channel is inching ever closer to being the All Global Warming All The Time channel, but it sure is nice to see an ad with this kind of attitude once in a while.
Man, this Patrick Moore fellow must be quite the thorn in Greenpeace's side.
First he came out in support of nuclear power (in direct opposition to Greenpeace's current stance); now he's arguing in favor of genetically modified food, to the effect that a GM-free world (and especially an all-organic one) would only be able to support a fraction of the earth's current population.
I for one like my corn on the cob, nectarines, tomatoes, and grain products, none of which would exist without genetic engineering of the old or the new-fangled varieties. And on a related note I especially love how all those people burning candles during Earth Hour a little while ago so neatly sabotaged all the decades of advances in efficiency and cleanliness in the power generation technologies we have come to depend on to fulfill our society-scale needs, transporting us instantly and gleefully back to the age when we didn't even worry about how much we were polluting things simply because we couldn't afford such a luxury.
