Ah, spring: that wonderful time when birds twitter in the rafters of the Home Depot and the barren tree-lined roads are suddenly awash in color. Man, the stuff vegetation does is something else around here.
Here I'd become used to springtime colors being limited to the whites and pinks of crape myrtles. But here... man. There's these pear trees that I first saw in Atlanta visiting my brother, the ones that line the sidewalks with white petals everywhere you turn—apparently they're becoming hugely popular in landscapers' portfolios everywhere in the East, and here is no exception.
Then there's this ridiculous thing:
I don't even know what the hell that is, but—I'm sorry, that is just overkill. You're not supposed to have more flowers than leaves, okay?
Bah. Nobody ever listens to me. Least of all plants.
