11:44 - Argh

Sorry about the extended and unexpected downtime, all you throngs of clamoring fans.
It's difficult to say what exactly has been going on without naming company names; suffice it to say that one hosting company got bought by another hosting company and was obliged to move all its servers across the country to the larger company's data center in New Jersey, and the process took somewhat longer than the 24-48 hours that I had originally been promised. Indeed, I received no fewer than four assurances over the course of the past ten days that the situation would be resolved "within 24 hours". It's the new mantra that overborne dedicated-hosting techs mumble while squatting in a dark corner, rocking back and forth on the balls of their feet.
I'll be naming names once I've got all the data backed-up and safely secured on an offsite server. That'll take a little while. In the meantime, this server and my other one have every likelihood of slipping in and out of consciousness, as indeed they have been today. Please bear with me.
But at the risk of jinxing the whole thing, it's looking to me like we may be nearing the end of this debacle.
Thanks for your patience and for not writing me off just yet.
