Jim B. sends this MacBidouille forum of a novel little trick that the instigator swears (in French) is not a Photoshop job:
No reason why this could not be done on any other OS, far as I can see; and it would be far more cool to do it by way of mounting a tiny webcam on the back of the monitor (for the Powerbook, right where the Apple logo is) to take a realtime picture and use it as the desktop. If your French is as rusty as mine, you'll find the Google translations hilarious.
Well, I have my doubts. A tiny webcam in that position would have to be super-super-SUPER wide angle, and I kinda doubt they make those kinds of lenses for webcams. Seems a little far-fetched.
But yes, it does look damn cool. At least from this angle.
Also, on an unrelated subject, Kevin notes that Splash Damage has released a Mac client for Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. In case anyone is interested.
